Date: Now till September, 2014

Venue: Auction website and the Elements

After creating a sensation world-wide, the hugely popular “Gromit Unleashed HK” exhibition is now entering a new stage by launching its online auction. Well-wishers from across the globe are welcome to bid for their favourite Gromit sculptures on the dedicated auction website. All proceeds from this auction will go to Art in Hospital in Hong Kong and Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal in the UK, which will benefit sick children in hospitals in both regions.

Besides the dedicated auction website, people who are invited by the organisers can attend the “Gromit Unleashed HK” live charity auction to be held on 25 September. The live auction will be led by auctioneer and Wallace & Gromit fan Brian Hodgson, who will draw on scripts from the animated series and bring a quintessentially British sense of humour to the event.

On the event day, the dedicated auction website will run parallel to the live auction, enabling Gromit fans and buyers around the globe to be part of the unique event, which will see 70 giant Gromit sculptures designed by more than 60 international and local masters of design sold to the highest bidders.

The auction will accept bids from both the in-house audience and online bidders. Overseas bidders or those unable to attend the auction in person can experience the live bidding atmosphere in real time via the dedicated “Gromit Unleashed HK” website and dedicated auction website. The online bidding is now open and people may leave bids now or join the live bidding on 25 September, which will run simultaneously with the live charity auction. Each sculpture will be sold to the highest bidder, subject to the reserve price. The auction is open to all, meaning everybody has a chance to own one of these magnificent Gromit sculptures!

If supporters around the globe would like to participate in the Gromit auction, they can visit the dedicated “Gromit Unleashed HK” dedicated website at www.gromitunleashedhk.com and find information on the stellar line-up of artists and their Gromit designs, descriptions of the 70 sculptures being auctioned, latest news on the exhibition, the ethos behind Gromit Unleashed, and a range of mulit-angle photos images of the Gromit sculptures to help them pick their favourites.
